Our Floor Sanding Process:
Initial Consultation
Every CFC project starts with an initial consultation between our client and one of our specialists. 100% customer satisfaction is achieved when we know exactly what the client desires and our client knows exactly what can be achieved with their floor. In this stage we will establish your desires and evaluate the condition of the floor. Our specialist will then give you an accurate estimation of the cost of the project. This can be done in-person on the day or over the phone for free. (In person quotes will come with a travel fee which will be deducted from the final price upon completion of the project).
Sanding
The amount of surface wood to be removed from the floor is unique to each project. this is where our specialist knowledge and experience pays off for our customers. Our specialists will accurately determine how much surface wood needs to be sanded off to reveal pristine wood and make your floor look brand new again. Be aware: the more wood that needs to be removed, the more sand paper that will be used. This will partially determine the price of the sanding process for each project.
Finishing
This is the final process. As the client you are free to decide which kind of finish you would like to have. The most common finishes are hard-wax oil and lacquer. Our specialist will explain the pros and cons of all of our finishes to enable our clients to make informed decisions and guarantee 100% customer satisfaction. Floor surfaces will age differently depending on factors such as environment, traffic volume and forms of traffic (i.e. pets with claws that may scratch the floor). For this reason it is advisable that our clients take our specialists' opinion into consideration in this regard to ensure a long-lasting high quality finish that will impress for years to come.
Specifics
Each project is unique, both in nature and in client desires. Some floors are in better condition than others and some require heavy repairs. Please see our price list for an estimation of any added extras that are specific to your floor but are not found on all jobs. These include but are not limited to: floor staining (adding a different colour to your floor before the finishing process), filling gaps (this includes holes or damaged areas for a clean, consistent finish), furniture moving and general floor repairs / floor board replacement.
